"Structure without function is a corpse
and function without structure is a ghost"
(Vogel & Wainwright, 1969)
Knowledge of structure is an essential foundation of biological research. Our aim is to elucidate structures of various degrees of complexity and thereby to contribute to a better understanding of function, ontogenetic processes and phylogenetic relationships.
Apart from teaching and research we assist students, colleagues and technical staff working in ultrastructure research as well as persons from other educational institutions and from the industry.
Currently we cooperate with several departments of the Faculty of Life Sciences, other Faculties at the University of Vienna as well as with other universities, museums and scientists in Austria and abroad.
If you are interested, please don´t hesitate to contact us. We offer help and collaboration and look forward to share our experience with you.
