Research activities

Bachelor thesis:
Alleviation of stress in mosses

I’m interested in the role of silicon in alleviation of biotic and abiotic stress in plants. Right now I’m focusing on three moss species, including Physcomitrella patens (Hedw. Syn. Aphanoregma patens).
For this purpose I’m conducting culture experiments on silicon spiked media with various other additional treatments. HPLC, ICPM, SEM/EDX as well as image analysis are some of the most important methods used.
