Abstract
This research project combines the allelopatic effect of lichen produced acids with physiological studies on the model moss Physcomitrella patens.
Preliminary studies have shown a high sensitivity of the moss but only towards specific acids. Within the project, the establishment of a model system is planned in order to test acids and other stress factors, like UV or heavy metals, for their effects on Physcomitrella patens on the physiological and proteomics level. This work fits very well into the research interests of our group and will certainly result in mutual benefit by combination of techniques, exchange of ideas, common publications and ongoing collaboration in the future.
